End-of-Summer Pest Control
As summer winds down, the pest pressures around homes and businesses shift, but they don’t disappear. In fact, late summer into early fall is one of the most active periods of the year for pests.
Warm-weather pests like ants and stinging insects hit their peak in late summer. Colonies are mature, populations are high, and food sources begin to change. Wasps and hornets are more aggressive at this time of year. At the same time, rodents and overwintering insects start scouting for shelter.
This time of year is important for keeping an eye out for carpenter ants which might be damaging your home, and wasp activity which could get somebody stung.
